This is our place, our new home. Ours is the one with open gates, and is as wide as the gap between the pipes on the roof, or the carport walls. It doesn't look wide here, but the lounge room and our bedroom, which both extend the full width of the house, as generourly sized. The bank of windows upstairs with an airconditioner above, is our bedroom. From here we can see the block of flats opposite or the little park at the end of them.
The automatic, diesel Isuzu D-Max. It's quite gutsy and easy enough to drive. The OM calls it a "bully vehicle", though the scooter riders don't seem so intimdated and I'm sure we'll end up picking one out from under the bumper one day.
Stairs going up... Just 3 bedrooms and 2 ensuites up there!
The lounge room. It's at the front of the house. You enter via the front door, which was to my right as I took the picture. Behind the maroon curtains (we bought these at Tesco for 85 Ringgats, around $25) is a set of 3 sliding doors that open wide to let in the breeze. Important, as there are no windows on two of the walls, ie. the one behind the couch and the one behind your esteemed photographer.
The "wet kitchen", which has no glass in the windows, at the back of the house. Immediately behind this is a lane, and our row of town houses backs onto the back of the next row. The neighbourhood has been very quiet and the neighbours mostly friendly. The townhouse to one side of us is vacant, as are probably 30-50% of the homes in the suburb. On the other side, we have 3 male students (Chinese Malaysians) who zip off on their scooters throughout the day.
This is the inside kitchen. The OM chose this lovely brand new fridge to match the brand new washing machine outside, now we just need some storage/ bench space and some cooking appliances. Having no cooking hasn't been too much of an inconvenience yet- as you have worked out, we are not planning on cooking very often. To solve my breakfast dilemma, I've even found instant oats at Tesco.
Please don't be horrified. This is our downstairs bathroom. The stairs are good exercise, anyway, so if I don't feel like using this one, at least I get a workout going up to our lovely clean ensuite (I used scourers, Jif, bleach, and toilet cleaner, and I'm happy with it now. The entire room was scrubbed, bleached and hosed and sparkles now. I'm still working on the rest of the house.
